Our ophthalmologists

I am a consultant ophthalmic surgeon specialising in cataract surgery and retinal diseases. I trained in centres of excellence in the UK and around the world honing a wide repertoire of medical and surgical skills.

I was admitted as Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2012 and hold the equivalent specialist title from Spain, gained at the University Clinic Hospital of Barcelona. I then undertook two years of highly specialised retina surgery training at the Bristol Eye Hospital and the Sydney Eye Hospital, Australia.

I am a patient safety and care quality officer holding roles dedicated to the improvement and maintenance of quality of care.

I grew up in Lincolnshire and attended school in Stamford, before moving on to the University of Bristol where I studied medicine from 1995-2001, graduating with MBChB (Hons).

I undertook my post-graduate training in ophthalmology at hospitals throughout the south-west of England, and completed this in 2012 when I was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young family, playing squash, and running cross-country ultramarathons.

I have worked as a consultant ophthalmologist with Newmedica since 2014.

Patient testimonials

I had an operation for a cataract, where I was treated with great care, professionalism and courtesy. The procedure was totally without pain and absolutely minimum discomfort. While I was a little apprehensive about having this eye operated on, I certainly will not be when I have the next one done.

I was extremely happy with my treatment and care and also the extra precautions re virus. Was feeling anxious about having my 1st cataract removed but all the staff very very friendly and immediately put me at ease.I certainly have no worries about having the other eye done,in fact looking forward to it being done
