About

Mr Rafiq Shaikh is an experienced consultant ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in medical retina and oculoplastics. He has worked in ophthalmology for over 30 years and is known for his professionalism, excellent clinical skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality eye care.

After graduating with an MBBS from Liaquat Medical College in Pakistan in 1986, Mr Shaikh completed his postgraduate training and was awarded Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in 1994. He went on to obtain his FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2000.

Mr Shaikh began his NHS career in 1995 at King Edward VII Hospital in Windsor. He has since held senior positions across several NHS trusts, including Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, and Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals.

Mr Shaikh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role and is dedicated to improving outcomes for patients through compassionate and expert care.
