This December, Newmedica is supporting Sight Research UK’s ‘Seeing is Believing’ Christmas campaign.
More than 2 million people have been diagnosed with sight loss in the UK. In the next decade, studies suggest that this figure will increase by 27%. That’s a population the size of Greater Manchester who will be living with visual impairment by 2035.
Sight Research UK’s charity funds pioneering research into the causes of eye disease, to develop preventative methods and more effective treatments. For the past four decades, they’ve been working to ensure a clearer future for those living with sight loss.
After the success of last year's campaign, we’re once again pledging to match donations made from 1st-31st December up to a total of £10,000, so until the 31st of December, your Christmas donations will have double the impact.
Managing Director at Newmedica, Peter Bainbridge, says:
“As an ophthalmology provider, we care deeply about eye health and making a difference. This Christmas, we’ll match donations up to £10,000 to encourage even more support in the fight against sight loss. We’re proud to work with Sight Research UK to help protect and restore vision across the country.”
Chief Executive at Sight Research UK, Lucy Culkin, also weighs in on our decision to back their Christmas campaign this year:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Newmedica for our ‘Seeing is Believing’ festive campaign. In this season of giving, it’s the perfect time to shine a bright light on the importance and potential of sight-saving research. Thanks to Newmedica’s generosity, every gift donated until 31st December will be matched penny for penny, up to the value of £10,000! So, this Christmas, please consider giving a gift of vision by fuelling life-changing advancements towards the treatment and prevention of sight loss. Your gifts help bring hope into focus for millions. Thank you for believing this festive season.”
Bring hope into focus with a gift of vision this festive season! Every donation we receive, however big or small, sparks a brighter year ahead.
