I am a consultant eye surgeon based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. I have worked here since 2001. Of over twenty consultants in Newcastle, I have for several years performed more cataract operations per session than any other surgeon and have the lowest complication rate of any high-volume surgeon. I use my experience to make surgery a comfortable and safe experience for all patients.

I am the most experienced children's cataract surgeon in the region, using my skill to perform cataract surgery in babies born with cataract.

I’m an experienced user of trifocal implants in cataract surgery for distance and near sight as well as toric lens implants for correcting astigmatism in cataract surgery.

I also work as a specialist adviser to the Care Quality Commission and offers expert opinions to the General Medical Council dealing issues of standards of care.

Outside work I have represented the North of England in Hockey as well as gaining 5 Hockey Blues for Oxford and Cambridge Universities and played National league division 1 Hockey.
