Carmel Noonan

Originally from southern Ireland, I completed my medical degree and started my ophthalmic training in Dublin. In 1993, I spent two years in Boston, USA, with one year at Harvard Medical school, completing a cataract fellowship. On return to the UK, I completed my senior registrar training in Liverpool, taking up my first consultant ophthalmology post in Warrington in 1998.

In 2009, I moved to Aintree University hospital and the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Liverpool. Over the past 10 years, in addition to clinics, I have had at least two complex cataract lists per week.

My areas of interest include neuro-ophthalmology, ocular motility, general ophthalmology, and cataract surgery.
