James Tildsley

I graduated in 2002 in Medicine at the University of Aberdeen. I began my ophthalmology training in 2004, gaining ten years of experience at Inverness, Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Nottingham, as well as 18 months subspecialty training in advanced medical and surgical management of glaucoma. In January 2022 I was appointed Clinical Director for Ophthalmology for Derby and Burton NHS Trust.

I perform cataract surgery, including complex cataract surgery. For glaucoma treatment I perform laser treatment including YAG peripheral iridotomies and selective laser trabeculoplasties. I also offer a range of private surgical assessments and treatment.

I also review all glaucoma patients who are reviewed by the clinical team within Newmedica Barlborough and Worksop.
