Consultant Ophthalmologist

I qualified as a doctor from the University of Birmingham and following my initial junior doctor training, returned to Birmingham University to teach anatomy. My registrar training was undertaken in the Wales deanery, during which I took some time out to work as an Education Fellow at the Imperial College NHS Trust and Western Eye Hospital in London.

On completion of my registrar training, I undertook the prestigious glaucoma surgical training fellowship programme at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, after which I began working as a consultant in my current post.

At Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust I am the lead for consultant the glaucoma service. I teach, train, and supervise students and practitioners with varying levels of experience in ophthalmology. This includes the medical and surgical supervision of other ophthalmic surgeons, training of glaucoma practitioners and lecturing of students at the University of Keele.

My clinical interests are in managing all general ophthalmic conditions with a particular interest in the medical, laser and surgical management of glaucoma; complex cataract surgery and; high volume cataract surgery.
