Newmedica Bradford and Huddersfield strengthens community links through Bradford Bulls partnership

Newmedica Bradford and Huddersfield is continuing to build strong links across the local community through a new sponsorship partnership with Bradford Bulls, becoming the club’s official eye health partner.

The partnership offers an opportunity to highlight the clinic’s ongoing commitment to supporting eye health across Bradford, Huddersfield and the surrounding areas — not only through specialist ophthalmology services, but also by actively engaging with organisations that promote wellbeing and bring communities together.

Supporting wellbeing on and off the field

As part of the sponsorship, Newmedica branding will appear on the run-on shirts worn by Bradford Bulls’ welfare staff. These team members play a vital role behind the scenes, supporting player safety, mental health and personal development across both the first team and Elite Academy.

The partnership reflects a shared focus on care, prevention and wellbeing. For Newmedica Bradford and Huddersfield, it is also a way to recognise the important contribution of welfare teams, whose work helps ensure players are supported before, during and after each fixture.

Raising awareness of eye health locally

To mark the partnership, members of the Bradford Bulls first team visited the Newmedica Bradford and Huddersfield clinic at Woodland Park, Cleckheaton, where they had the opportunity to learn more about eye health and experience an Optical Coherence Tomography scan.

OCT scans take high-resolution, three-dimensional cross-sectional images of the eye, helping clinicians detect changes that may indicate eye conditions. By introducing the players to this technology, the visit helped raise awareness of the importance of regular eye checks and early detection.

A local clinic supporting NHS and private patients

Based at Park House, Woodland Park in Cleckheaton, Newmedica Bradford and Huddersfield provides specialist ophthalmology care for NHS and private patients across the region. The clinic offers services including cataract surgery, YAG laser treatment, oculoplastic surgery and treatment for glaucoma.
