Teesside ODP injector reaches 1,000th eye injection milestone

We’re celebrating a huge milestone at Teesside Newmedica, where ODP IVT injector Jodie has now carried out her 1,000th intravitreal injection.

Jodie began her IVT injector training in December 2024 with consultant ophthalmologist Mr Dees and went on to become the very first ODP injector across the Newmedica network.

She joined Teesside in August 2022 from a local NHS trust, where she worked in general theatres. Since then, Jodie has developed her skills across pre-operative care, anaesthetics and post-operative care, before taking on the challenge of becoming an IVT injector.

Annette Johnson, operational director at Teesside Newmedica, said:

The 1,000th injection was received by patient Michael Bayldon, who shared:

With professionals like Jodie, Teesside Newmedica continues to deliver safe, high-quality care to patients across the region.
