Newmedica and Sight Research UK raise over £26,000 for sight-saving research

In December 2025, Newmedica teamed up with Sight Research UK’s ‘Seeing is Believing’ Christmas campaign for the second year running.

More than 2 million people have been diagnosed with sight loss in the UK. In the next decade, studies suggest that this figure will increase by 27%. That’s a population the size of Greater Manchester who will be living with visual impairment by 2035.

Sight Research UK’s charity funds pioneering research into the causes of eye disease, to develop preventative methods and more effective treatments. For the past four decades, they’ve been working to ensure a clearer future for those living with sight loss.

We're delighted to share that £13,110 was raised throughout December, which we agreed to match for the second year running, taking the grand total to £26,220.
