Our private treatment price guide

Our private treatments and services start from £195 for an initial consultation, and you can find more details about prices and payment options below.

Please note that not all treatments are available at every Newmedica clinic. Visit your nearest clinic page to check which services are offered.

Consultation and diagnostic prices

Initial consultation

Your initial consultation is where we’ll learn a bit more about you so that we can recommend the best treatment options, although there’s no obligation for you to continue your treatment with us. It costs £195 or is free if you’re considering cataract surgery.

Follow-up consultation

Follow-up consultations are priced at £125 per appointment. At these, we’ll gather any information we need to know for your treatment, while you can tell us more about your preferences and get to know the team that will look after you better.

After your treatment, follow-up consultations help us monitor your recovery and ensure the treatment has met your goals.

Diagnostic tests (visual field, OCT, ocular photography)

To figure out the best treatment options, or to check whether your treatment was successful, you may need special tests like a visual field test, OCT scan or ocular photograph. Visual field tests are £75, while OCT scans and ocular photography are £95 each.

SLT laser

SLT is a quick, non-invasive procedure that uses a laser to stimulate your eye’s natural drainage system so that fluid drains properly. This stops pressure from building up and damaging your optic nerve. It costs £795 for one eye, but you’ll pay just £995 for both together.

Glaucoma surgery

If your glaucoma is severe, you may need surgery such as a trabeculectomy, which costs £2,995. This is usually only necessary if other treatments, like SLT, have not been effective, and your consultant will advise you if they think this is something you need.

How to pay for private treatment

To start private treatment, you can either get referred or contact us directly. You’ll then be able to choose how you pay for your treatment from the following options.

Self-pay

If you choose to self pay, you can either pay out of pocket or apply for financing through our finance partner.

Private medical insurance

We’re accredited by the main private medical insurance companies, so if your eye condition is covered by your insurance, you can use it to pay for your treatment. Some patients choose this to be treated faster when NHS waiting times are too long.
